It was our pleasure to visit the largest wine company in this region of Europe, Vina Belje, which was founded in 1697. We visited the packaging line, the oldest cellar in Eastern Europe, and the vineyards. Of course, we had a wonderful wine-tasting experience. We booked a tour in the museum of Beli Manastir and we headed to the vineyards nearby. It was amazing to see how large the scale is and how good the grapes were.
I wanted to try the grapes just to imagine how good the wine could be but they were not mature enough. It was a 20-minute car-drive from the museum to the vineyards and another 20-minute drive from vineyards to the processing line where you can see how the wine was made and packed.
After the visits, we went to the oldest cellar to taste some wines produced by Vina Belje. We had the red wine from 2015 and the white wine from 2015. They were amazing and were priced relatively cheap. The tour also brought us to some smaller and local wine company which are tailor-made for people preferring fruitier and sweeter wines. It was an unforgettable experience! I feel like it should go for a wine-tasting competition in France !
